Winter Solstice Bike Ride
Annual event to commemorate the longest night, always held on the 21st of June.
The purpose is to brightly support safe cycling in Christchurch: for commuters, kids riding to school and for all recreational cyclists. And to be cool - very cool.
This event has been held annually since 2012.
Meet inside Hagley Park at the Armagh Street entrance - the Mickle Gates - from 5pm for a 5.30pm roll-out. We then follow each other single file on our bicycles around the shared paths of North Hagley park.
This is a family-friendly event but organisers urge that you ride with your children as it is pretty dark after 5.30pm.

Bling out your bike, helmet and person with as many lights as you can.
Event will be held rain, hail, snow or wind . . . or a nice warm evening. (In case of really severe weather, an announcement will be posted here by 4pm on the 21st.)
